Photodegradation of Nitrogen Oxide under Solar Light Using a Facile Synthesis Catalyst

NOx is becoming a hot issue due to its contribution ozone, PM2.5 formation, and negative impacts on the ecosystem. In this study, synthesis of an MgO/Bi2S3-BiOCl composite was carried out via co-precipitation method for photodegradation nitrogen oxide (NO) under solar light. The BiOCl heterojunction result interactions between Bi2S3 solution MgCl2.6H2O precursor. This provides more available active species that enhance degradation NO. successful using confirmed by different characterization analyses (XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM, DRS, ESR). photocatalytic NO light 7% reached efficiency 74.6%, which better than obtained pure (42.8%) MgO (11.2%). reusability test showed material maintained stability in even after five cycles. trapping holes (h+) hydroxyl (•OH–) were main factors process. findings study suitable precursor leading improvements performance purpose promoting new can be used could candidate practical applications.
